Rezension: CloudMagic Leben in Windows 8

CloudMagic has gone Metro. The excellent search service, which I a fan of have been, since it made its debut in 2010, Metro interface is now available as a native application for Windows 8. CloudMagic Windows 8 Edition provides even super speedy and precise search results through a variety of services, but it is a little hamstrung by Windows 8 problems.

You can use the CloudMagic app from Microsoft's Windows store download and it installs quickly. Already have a CloudMagic account, the app remembers all settings and needs not much in the way of set up: log on and you're good to go.

If you don't already have a CloudMagic account, the logon process is simple and it's just you want to link the services there are looking for. CloudMagic is currently looking for following services: AOL, box, dropbox, EverNote, Facebook, Gmail, Google apps, Google drive, Google talk, GMX, Hotmail, iCloud, Mail.com, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Microsoft Office 365, MSN, Outlook.com, SkyDrive, Twitter, Windows Live, and Yahoo mail. You grant access to the accounts simply CloudMagic it would look, and it goes to work, index them.

While the basics are the same, the actual experiences with the use of CloudMagic as a Windows app is 8 Metro differently in your browser to use it as an extension. The browser extension shows results directly on the Web page that you view the Metro app is your own standalone app. You are looking for from within the app itself and all results, see also.

I like how CloudMagic organized the results according to type: you can see messages, people, files & docs posts & updates and events, and you can limit your search to one of these categories, have an idea of what you are looking for.

CloudMagics results appear as always fast in real time as you type, and proved to be very accurate. And CloudMagics subscription model is available: you can display every month 50 free "Preview". (CloudMagic has a preview of the action you take after receiving the search results displayed, where a short preview of the content displayed you click result that appears relevant, and you are, they returned.) If you want to see more than 50 preview pictures, you need to hand over $5 per month for a pro account.

CloudMagic Metro app with a Metro-fied interface, with a big search bar at the top and even greater search results.

What's different about CloudMagics Metro app, the Metro-fied interface, which results in large text in a column on the left side of the screen is displayed. I have it on a touch screen device does not test, but I can see how this interface with one would work well. A click on one of the results has a preview on the right side of the screen. Depending on what type of content includes this preview you see certain options below the preview. It is an e-Mail message, such as options see "Reply" and "Open".

Here is the unfortunate part of the use of CloudMagic in the modern user interface of Windows 8: lots of content that search is CloudMagic of services - such as Facebook and Gmail - not as Metro apps available yet. So if you open it, you are taken over 8 desktop interface on your browser back in Windows. The experience is not exactly seamless, especially because the CloudMagic browser extensions being back gives you in your browser - she reminded me at how much I like to use. You can with ease between sites and services to change.

This error is not CloudMagics fault - they can not make Google and Facebook Metro applications, after all publish - as it is a reminder of the limitations of Windows 8. That's the good news: If Windows 8 improves, so the experience with the use of CloudMagics Metro is app.

Note: The download button on the product information page appears in the Windows download, where you can download the latest version of the software.
