Rezension: OpenMind 5 macht Mindmaps erstklassige Bürger in das Office-Ökosystem

Some alternate realities are exciting present: what would have Apple looked back as Steve Jobs never made it? And what kind of world would we live in the Internet for science and the military remained strictly? Others are less so: what if Microsoft integrates a mindmapping tool in Office? Still, one is, I think I can answer: it would look like itsystemss OpenMind 5 ($279, free 30-day trial).

OpenMind makes it easy to put a note to any node in your mind map.

As newer versions of Office, OpenMind 5 launches a Ribbon instead of a traditional menu. The Ribbon is designed just like the Office 2013, but still pop open file click, a menu instead of you to the chunky new backstage view. Feels like an ordinary mind mapping utility with a core as the Ribbon OpenMind, is not much different than places such as Blumind. To create nodes and sub-nodes, pull it around newly arranged and boxes and can add notes or related information to each node.

An interesting feature of OpenMind is that you can do more than one root node in your mind map. This is something more sophisticated tools such as TheBrain do not let: each node usually has to be the child of another node. Multiple root nodes effectively, takes a little getting used.

Just like SimpleMindOpenMind can you easily subject your mind map with several pre-built styles. I have the ready-made styles for visually impressive, especially because the background stays white by default not found. But changing colors is not the only way to transform your mind map: OpenMind can quickly switch between three different layout styles and present your information as a traditional mind map, a hierarchy from top to bottom, or a left-right structure.

Hierarchical information OpenMinds-top-down works fine view.

As soon as you are finished crafts of your mind map, often it is time to present it others. OpenMind has a presentation mode, in which the Ribbon, leave away your mind map in focus. It comes with large, simple mouse click buttons through the nodes from node to node in a logical order jump makes it easy.

Also a good way to create a mind map, write a tree brainstorming, and OpenMind, you can export a mind map directly into Microsoft Word. The resulting file is open with an automatically generated table of contents based on your mind map. The hierarchy of the mind map is maintained, and you get sections and subsections according to the structure of the map. OpenMind also has an import function, but it had failed to interpret the simple outline that I import tried.

It is an area in which OpenMind in particular is missing, is collaboration. Where online tools such as MindMeister shine with simultaneous editing and developed story feels more like a single user-tool-a bit like the difference between Microsoft Word and Google Docs features, OpenMind.

OpenMind includes several simple designs, all based on a white background.

In General, I would say that OpenMind is 5 a very exciting tool, especially for the price. Before you spend a desktop mind mapping utility $279, to try the subscription-based online products, you would do well not to the free options out there, and.

Note: The download button on the product information page, reach the website of the manufacturer, where you can download the latest version of the software.
