With even greater higher ed with Office 365 University

Guest blogger Devin Pastoor is a University of Maryland graduate student on his PhD in pharmacology and bio-mathematics work. Devin Office 365 University shares how he uses and to manage his life organized and productive with demanding to remain constantly deadlines.

Office 365 UniversityMy life is a whirlwind of classes, assignments, group projects, and laboratory work. How College and students take the most I can all help, I get to keep organized, productive and ultimately to stay ahead of the learning curve.

Lucky students for me and other universities endeavors, all useful, just Microsoft Office 365 University for College and students. For only $79.99 for a four-year subscription (the only $1.67 per month!), it's a fantastic deal.

As an early adopter of Office 365 I have up and running for a few months. In this short time, I've gotten to know and love many of the new features-all that I possibly will not waive, whether I was in school, at home or work. Here are a few:

Note: I use OneNote as a mein ' Digital Brain '. Be it tests, laboratory work, to do lists, or random thoughts, keeps everything in order and my fingertips OneNote. I love the openness and extensibility, the OneNote features. In the blink of an eye I can create shapes to add PowerPoint slides or handouts, which my teachers give me and make my Tablet full, use of the ink features in multiple colors. In addition, keeps me organized, is the search function, to OneNote built an invaluable asset for me.The fact that I myself find written texte-can-my own handwriting!-makes it easier than ever for me find keywords while gathering research, study or looking after information from a specific lecture

Data-entry: Doing laboratory work, Flash fill Excel already saved me many hours of manual data entry. How to fill a Data Wizard, which completes your work for you, Flash recognizes what you want to do and enters the rest of your data in one fell swoop, for patterns in the data.

Presentations: With the improved presenter view in PowerPointI see more and more polished than I really (sure hope that my professors read this am, are not). Hidden my audience, I see I need all the key points in the remarks section to land and I no longer worry about, is which slide or need, look at the clock on the wall see, how much time I have left.

Communications and calendar: Between school, work, multiple e-Mail accounts and my schedule is a breeze with the new Outlook. The ability to add people to a meeting and suggest Outlook time where everyone's calendar is free made large meetings or even casual riots planning stress-free.

The cloud: With SkyDrive, my current documents are always available online, where ever I am. Because I frequently switch between my Tablet and laptop, it is important that all over both update. I am also many group projects, involved, so being able to create and share folders by content, know that every human being has the latest version of everything, that everything is always protected, needs a lot of stress from work.

In addition to all the things that I love about using Office 365 for the school, I can not close, without requiring you to know about all the Extras, with an Office-365-University subscription, including:

More memory: Additional 20 GB Premium SkyDrive storage.Skype: 60 Minutes of Skype world per month. New of upgrades: Future updates and extensions to get. Two installations: On up to two computers (PC or Mac) for a user to install Office-365-University.Office on request: Use Office, even if you are not at your PC to stream through comprehensive Office to an Internet-connected Windows-based PC.

Getting to Know Adobe’s University Talent Team: Kelly Orasin

As a marathon runner I know the meaning of commitment. Completing a race takes months of training and proper nutrition.  After 5 months of early morning runs and very sore legs, I completed my first marathon in March of this last year. I couldn’t believe it.  Not only did I finish, but I actually did so in a faster time then I predicted! Many asked if I would ever run another full-marathon again. If they had asked me at mile 20, I would have said no, not a chance. But looking back on the long journey and hard work it took to complete the race I actually miss the runs and the sore legs. So now after mile 26.2 the answer is yes, please sign me up.

Like my marathon training it takes time for a company to become successful. Stability and profitability are just some of the accomplishments a company can achieve if it is committed to achieving its goals. I have worked as a University Talent Recruiter for several high tech companies around the Bay Area, recruiting engineers for internships and entry level roles. I currently support the Digital Marketing business unit at Adobe.  My role is a hybrid of recruitment, event planning, and project management.  To recruit the best and brightest talent across the country I travel to college campuses to participate in career fairs, information sessions, and networking events.

One of the reasons I decided to join Adobe was because of the company’s dedication and commitment to its employees and customers. Over the years, Adobe has re-defined its position within the software industry and recently made it a goal to change the world through digital experiences.  I look forward to being part of that journey ahead. Challenges and obstacles aside, I know Adobe will finish the race and perhaps do better than they predicted!

I hope to meet some of you at our University events across the country. In the meantime, I encourage you to explore enriching career opportunities with us. Feel free to contact me if you have questions regarding career opportunities at Adobe.

Liz Wilkins, Senior Marketing Manager, Adobe Education UK responds to launch of new comparison website for university courses

Last month’s launch of Unistats by Vince Cable is a positive move during a time of great uncertainty for students, which will help to reassure those that may be questioning the value for money they will be getting from their University now they are paying higher fees.

We’re experiencing the most radical changes to the Higher Education sector in decades. The student experience will naturally evolve as a result – but it’s important that undergraduates who are starting their University careers this Autumn feel it is changing for the better. As well as judging value for money on factors such as teaching hours and future job prospects, our own research* tells us that students are scrutinising access to support facilities such as libraries (60%) and the provision of more than just basic ICT so they can develop the ‘essential’ skills needed for the workplace.

We welcome this fresh approach to supporting students in navigating the new obstacles they face in choosing a University. But for it to have real impact, University Vice Chancellors must ensure they’re in a position to be able to meet the demands of the next generation of student, particularly with regard to the provision of industry standard technology which many young people consider to be instrumental in helping them secure employment later on. Needless to say, those able to adapt their strategies will be far more appealing to students looking for reassurances that they’ll have more than just debt to show for their University careers.

Getting to Know Adobe’s University Talent Team…

A little bit about me … I joined Adobe about five years ago as a new grad from San Jose State University. My first job here was, in my opinion, the best first HR job one could have in corporate HR. It was as a member of the HRIC (HR Information Center), where I got a serious crash course in all things HR related. After an amazing year on the HRIC team, I moved over to the University Talent Team; I had always had a big interest in being a part of this team and have been with it ever since.

My current role in University Talent is program- oriented: in the spring and summer I plan for and manage the Summer Connections Program, our summer program for all university talent, to help interns get to know each other, learn about Adobe and have fun. In the fall and winter, I maintain relations with our target campuses, set up campus and Adobe on-site events and help with our recruiting and branding efforts. I truly enjoy my role at Adobe as well as the people I work with, not just in my greater team but across different functions as well.

On a personal note, I’ve been married for 5 years, the same amount of time I have been at Adobe; I actually accepted my offer with Adobe the day before my wedding. I’ve lived in the Bay Area my whole life but have always loved to travel. While in college, I was able to study abroad in Spain which really reinforced my travel bug. My husband and I travel whenever possible; we love exploring new places. Some exciting places I have be able to visit include most of Western Europe, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and Jamaica.
