Moving with Adobe Photoshop CS2


It is quite possible for anyone to learn the basics of Photoshop CS2 (or Creative Suite 2). Even if the instruction manual is a bit confusing there are many books and online tutorials step by step to help you navigate in Photoshop CS2. Let's start with the basic principles that put you on the right track.

When you open Photoshop CS2, you will be greeted by a default screen with six major components. They are:-.
1. Menu bar
2. Toolbox
3 Bar of Options tool
4 Button shortcut adobe Bridge
5 Sinks palette
6. Floating Palettes

There are nine separate menu options in the menu bar. They are:-.
1 File
2 Edit
3 Image
4 Layer
5. Select
6 Filter
7 View
8 Window
9 Help

By clicking on one of them will lead to a menu drop-down more full of options. If an option in a drop menu just arrow side, it leads to a fly-out menu with more options. If an option is followed by an ellipse it opens a dialog box in which you will need to enter additional settings.

Under the menu bar is the tool options bar. Changes in tool bar options whenever you select a new tool, therefore not alarmed by his appearance change constantly. It allows you to modify the properties of the tool you selected.

Shortcut buttons Adobe Bridge opens Adobe Bridge, a program that allows you to browse and organize your collection of images.

The Toolbox contains most of the tools that you need to edit and create images. It is best to print a page of Toolbox reference and keep it near your computer. In this way, you can see all the icons and a description of their function. Some icons have a small arrow in the corner. If you click and hold an icon with an arrow on other tools that are hidden behind the other will be displayed. When you open Photoshop CS2, four groups of floating palette will appear on the right side of your screen.

They are:
1 Navigator, Information, histogram
2 Styles of color swatches,
3 History and Action
4 Layers, channels, paths

It is possible to drag these pallets in the palette of property or their collapse. They can be resized by dragging on a corner. You can also click on one of the tabs in the palette and remove this tab of the palette. Pallets can be joined by dragging together until they touch. Pallets have a small arrow button in the upper right. By clicking on it you can access menu fly-out of this palette options.

Take the time to play with the location of all the different functions of Photoshop CS2. Merge and move your palettes. Customize your workspace in something that works for you. Once you have done so, go to the menu bar and select window, down to the workspace, and then select Save Workspace in fly-out menu. The next time you open Photoshop CS2, you can open your custom workspace.
