Photoshop - using a layer mask to blend two Images

Hello. This tutorial is based on the use of a layer mask to merge the two images. Today, I will do this dinosaur appear on this beach, just in the water. Layer masks are very simple to use and also very useful! They are working on a system of grey - white - black. This tutorial will explain later.

Step 1: Obtain images

Open your first image, in this case, it is the beach. Then open your second image (in this case, the dinosaur) and move it on the first image, this can be done by simply dragging with the arrow tool!

Step 2: Creating a layer mask

As I said, layer masks to make use of black, white and grey. To add a layer mask, simply click on the rectangle with the circle to the Interior. bottom of your layer window.

Step 3: Hide the surplus areas

We want only the dinosaur here, then let's get rid of the rest! The tool brush to take, with the Brush tool, we can use these colors.

Black = hide
White = display
Grey = partially hide

The shadow of your color decides the opacity of the area you brush. Brush black on the areas you want to dispose of them, to see what happens!

Now you'll zoom in (Ctrl ++ / Ctrl + -) to do with precision... If you make a mistake, do not undo, brush simply with white.

Step 4: opacity

In this image, I want the legs to be in the water, this means I want their lowered opacity so it seems that the legs are under water. To do this, we need a grey color. Watch as I brush with the grey! As you can see, I've brushed grey and his leg now seems partially hidden! Having accommodation problems atm, Photobucket bad image!

That's all!
